Dogs Playing Softball

What's funnier than nerds playing hockey?  Nerds playing softball.

This week, LAN gaming featured an opening act of softball.  Now was the chance for the regulars (no bunny) to show off their amazing softball skills.  Unfortunately the afternoon was instead filled with plenty of 'What the heck?', shin burgers (that's when you use your shin to stop a ground ball instead of using your glove), questionable pitching, and concluded with dogs running free.

One favorite part of the experience was MrBrightSide pitching.  It's not easy pitching as most of us discovered.  Well, when MBS threw what he thought was a bad pitch, he would say 'Awww' or 'No' or 'Look out', but sometimes, we would swing anyway because it wasn't that bad a pitch.  The most favorite part of softball was the arrival of the nerd mascots, Button and Cartman.  These doggies were set loose upon the world and they ran around and around, in the game, and out of the game.

Following a break for dinner at El Taqueria, it was back to the Crazy House.

LAN gaming consisted of a new German import, Bandits.  A mediocre cars with guns game, but a good change of pace from always playing the same game.  It was good to finally see CheekyMonkey playing a driving game.  But mid-game connection problems ended this new adventure like a bad night of sex, prematurely.

The majority of the night was spent on a classic, CounterStrike.  New maps, new teams (Bunny playing a Terrorist?!?!), but the same ol' team shooting.  The map was Bikini.  I was following ?! as his backup.  He was walking silently through the tunnel to the side of the house so I was also walking silently.  He reached the end of the tunnel, and decided to check behind him.  He turned, saw me, and shot me.  'Why are you sneaking up on me?' he exclaimed.  Oh well, that happens all the time.

Softball was great, let's hope it becomes a regular, along with the nerd dogs.

Not the Point by bunny's fan    5.19.06
The point isn't that the game was flatout. The point is that we've had problems with multiplayer connections but we try again.

If you are trying to say that Bandits is not a fun game and you'd rather not play, then that would make sense to me.

Flatout who? by His Highness the Game Guru    5.19.06
I dunno if drawing comparisons to flatout ups the value of any game....

Now if it were more like Homeland II...

Oh? by the game lord    5.17.06
Is that why we quit playing? I didn't realize we quit because people were dropping out. It's not like we couldn't try again. I mean even we even dropped out of Flat Out.

Really? by Mischief    5.11.06
I played the first few scenarios of the campaign game and I had no problems. The experts need to take a look at your computer again.

Bandits Patch by Karl    5.9.06
I think that Bandits patch we were using may be the problem. I was trying to play the campaign game, and it would constantly dropping out too. Too bad the developer didnt release the campaign game as multiplayer, then we could have been playing "counter-strike" with cars...
