Must See!

Why see Xmen2? Why not is more the question. From the opening scene
this movie grabs your attention. It doesn't really wait for you to get
popcorn or kiss your date( I didn't have one, so I didn't worry about
that), and it didn't apologies for starting without you. The character
development is not strong, but really, what do you want? Leave that for
the comics which has a lot more than two hours to do so. Wolverine(Hugh
Jackman, whom I like to call the soon to be "what Russell Crow should
have been" actor, or better know as young Clint Eastwood) is very good
at selling Wolverine. But that was no suprise since he did so already in
the first one. I likened this to the second installment of Lord of the
rings. A lot of Characters doing a lot of different things.

Oh and evil guys, were pretty evil. Gen. Stryker(Brian Cox) in
my estimation made for a pretty evil enemy for both factions to fight.
While the story is not Oscar material(although the Oscars have been
pretty weak the last few years), it also didn't try to do too much.
Which I like in an Action movie. Don't bore us with too many moral
dilemma's that characters have to face. Its clear cut, Evil is bad,
good is well...good. Even when you thought evil was turning good, you
are then reminded of its evil.

I also liked how there were different levels of characters we
all could relate to. From the teen Xmen, and women, to the 30 something
heros and villains, to the older wiser ones. Everything was divided and
defined for you. Which was nice, but at times it was annoying(being nit
picky). Often times characters would do things that lead to other
events, and I sometimes picked up on the foreshadowing. But that's
Hollywood.

From the Ruthless way Wolverine dealt with enemies to the way
Xavier(Patrick Stewart) was con-ed by "so called" innocence, I felt that
they hit the nail on the head with some of the characters. Little
thing's bothered me, but little things also made the movie interesting,
an example of both was when Mystic( Rebecca the hot blonde Stamos)
seduces a guard and injects him with Iron(later helping Magneto escape).
While this was a good way of freeing Magneto, how many times have we
seen a hot women seduce the dumb guard? Lots if you go to the movies,
or if you're a bartender. Of course, we have to mention the hot chicks
in the movie, Rebecca getting a chance not to be blue, to Kelly Hu,
being the female Wolverine( for the boys to ga ga over). This movie
reminded me of the beer commercial, where the girls start ripping each
other clothes off, and we then learn it is actually two guys talking
about what a beer commercial should be. If you follow that commercial,
others follow with what a beer commercial should be from a girls point
of view. Why am I bringing this up??

Because Xmen2 is like that. Made to order. Everything you want
in an action flick. Super powers, bad guys, and good guys. Hot men and
women doing heroic things. Sure it had flaws, but for a sequel, in this
age of lame sequels its pretty damn entertaining. On a Side note a
really good trailer of The Matrix, and The Hulk were present and
accounted for. Pretty good way to start the summer block busters.
